Student sex: nude selfie-sharing ring of Instagram teens busted by Virginia cops

A massive nude photo-sharing ring involving more than 100 teen in six Virginia counties has been cracked by cops who say many of the 14 and 15-year-olds involved are probably unaware they have technically broken child p*rn laws prohibiting the transmission of sexually explicit photographs of minors. 

Police got wise to the sexting ring when one mother saw erotic pictures of her child on Instagram. Investigators say that while some of the images are merely suggestive, the majority of the more than 1,000 pics and videos shared over the private Instagram accounts are sexually explicit.

Teens sending nude selfies over the open internet are are obviously risking some shady stuff and it's unlikely they know exactly everyone who's seeing the them without clothes. 

The phone-to-phone sexting and the invitation-only sharing via an Instagram account named "thesehoes01" has exposed the kids not just to weird pedos and future embarrassment but also to the fist of the law. Cops have so far seized 23 cell phones. 

It's an odd situation as some of these child porn crimes involve kids in possession of naked pics of older teens.
